About the Workshop
In times of distress, we turn to different forms of knowing, and even to the stars for guidance.
The shifting season of Taurus to Gemini presents us with the opportunity to verbalize our embodied knowing and transform our capacities for seeing beauty, sensuality, and satisfaction into social seed packets of information we can share. Uranus’s long stay in Taurus activates impulses to revolutionize our relationships with land, labor, and food. Is it finally time for food justice? We are being dared by current astrology’s opposition of Mars in Leo and Pluto in Aquarius to direct the fire in our hearts toward the work of designing new systems for sharing the wealth of the earth. We may just break the grip of obscene wealth revealed by Pluto’s Stay in Capricorn!
This workshop helps us locate nourishment and abundance in what already surrounds us and assists in rediscovering valuable elements of our personal practices and gifting them to our communities artistically. We will examine current trends toward food justice and innovation, and connect our personal and social practices to build these budding systems as we enter Pluto’s 21 year stay in Aquarius.
Ramon Gabrieloff-Parish is a lifelong star gazer, Afrofuturist philosopher, practicing astrologer, social artist and creative ceremonialist. His current project is to utilize the many outer planetary alignments of the 2020's as catalysts for imaginal, collaborative and institutional transformation. In his day job as a chair of Naropa University’s Interdisciplinary Studies department he focuses on the intersections of equity and sustainability through courses on food and environmental justice. He also teaches foundations in contemplative learning and theory, embodiment, social identity, and conflict transformation. Ramon is committed to community, cultural and cosmic regeneration, through his consulting work with Once and Future Green and with organizations like Golden Bridge, Youth Passageways and recently as board chair of Frontline Farming.
