NEW MOON/SOLAR ECLIPSE EMBODIMENT RITUAL

Today’s eclipse is exact shortly after 9PM Pacific Time. Practice this ritual all day today and tomorrow.

Take several deep breaths. Breathe with consciousness and intention. Feel your breath move through your body. 

As you inhale, remind yourself that you are here.
As you exhale, remind yourself that the time is now.

Feel into your body/being. Feel for the spaces in you that hold any of the following sensations:

  • fear

  • fear of being wrong

  • fear of not being right/ not being good enough

  • control

  • the need to control yourself or others

  • feeling controlled by someone else  

  • tension

  • the tension of maintaining ___________ 

  • rigidity

  • rigidity of avoiding ______________

Then….

Take several deep breaths. Breathe with consciousness and intention. Feel your breath move through your body. 

As you inhale, remind yourself that you are here.
As you exhale, remind yourself that the time is now.

Feel into your body/being. In the spaces where you find the above sensations, try:

  • nurturing yourself (notice the feeling that’s present, don’t try to change it, have compassion for its reasons for being there, try holding this part of your body, hold yourself energetically)

  • forgiving yourself 

  • forgiving someone else (this doesn’t mean bypassing boundaries, making violence ok, or letting anyone off the hook for trespasses they need to be accountable to. forgiveness for someone else can sometimes look like forgiving yourself for not being able to change them.)

  • relaxing with your breath

  • letting out a long exhale with a sound that’s loud and you don’t care because it feels good

  • shaking your body

  • letting it go
